Who Can Apply?
- Candidates who will be evaluated are those who have graduated or are in the process of graduating from English Language and Literature, American Culture and Literature, or Comparative Literature (English-medium) undergraduate programs.
- Those candidates who have graduated or are in the process of graduating from English Linguistics, English Translation and Interpreting (Translation Studies), or English Language Teaching undergraduate programs will also be evaluated. However, if it is deemed necessary, such candidates may be asked to undertake a preparatory academic program.
Application Requirements
- Candidates must have obtained a score of at least 60 on the ALES examination or the equivalent from either the GRE or the GMAT examination. Click here for the relevant equivalence table.
- Candidates must have obtained a score of at least 85 from the English YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL examinations, or an equivalent score from either an international examination accepted as an equivalent to these or from the English Proficiency Exam organized by the TED University English Language School. - Those who apply and meet the stated criteria will participate in the program’s entrance examination.
Application Evaluation Criteria
- ALES (or GRE / GMAT equivalency) = 50%
- Undergraduate graduation GPA (100 system) = 10%
- Entrance Examination (20% Written Exam + 20% Interview) = 40%

Required Documents
- Current CV
- A scanned copy of the transcript from the last or continuing undergraduate program
- Approved undergraduate diploma or student certificate for graduate candidates
- Diploma Equivalency Certificate (for diplomas obtained from abroad)
- Current ALES / GRE / GMAT score document and a scanned copy thereof
- English Proficiency Certificate (YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL or an accepted equivalent international examination). (Not required for TEDU alumni.) If you do not have any of these documents, you can contact the relevant secretariat by clicking here to obtain information about the English Proficiency Exam organized by the TED University English Language School.
- Copy of identity document
- Military Status Certificate for male students
- Letter of intent
- Two letters of reference. (Not required for TEDU alumni.) You can either bring your reference letters in a sealed envelope to the interview or have them sent to the departmental email address at: ell@tedu.edu.tr.
Scholarships
- Students may be granted scholarships at various levels (25–100%) according to their level of achievement and based on the program admission criteria. Click here for the scholarship guidelines.

Notes
- Required documents must be uploaded in full and with no omissions.
- You may re-enter the portal at <https://portal.tedu.edu.tr> in order to upload documents for an incomplete application. User name and password information are sent to the candidate via email during the first application.
- In case of detection of misleading information provided during application and/or registration, the applicant will lose all rights gained even in the case of acceptance to or registration in the program.
